Q: How do I set-up my profile and login?
A: The first time that you login to the website, use your email address for your User ID. This will be your permanent User ID, so please choose the e-mail address that is most frequently checked by you and your family members. If your family members are not updated on your lease, they will not be in the registration system.
Your password is your Tenant ID Code. If you do not know your Tenant ID Code, you may contact your District/Housing Office for assistance. After you login for the first time, if you prefer, you may change your password to something that is easier for you to remember.
Q: How do I view upcoming events?
A: Once you are logged in to the website, you can click on the 'My Upcoming Events' button to view a list of the available events in your community. If registration is required, a 'Register Now' link will be available below the event description during the registration period.
Once you register for an event, you can view it and any other upcoming events that you have previously registered for by clicking on the 'My Registered Events' button. Here you can confirm your attendance or cancel your registration if you are selected for the event. You may also update your contact phone number.
Q: How does the Lottery system work?
A: Don’t be intimidated by the word “lottery.” We use a lottery system so it’s not first come, first serve, and everyone has a fair chance to enter. Lottery event registrations have a start and end date; in this time you must enter on the website. Once the lottery has ended, names are selected randomly and families are notified via email to let them know that they have been selected for the event. Reminder: All Lotteries begin at 8:30 AM and end at Noon on the dates stated.
Q: How do I know if I was selected for an event?
A: If you are selected for an event, you will receive a “Congratulations, you have been selected for! CONFIRMATION REQUIRED email” letting you know you were selected. This email contains details on how to confirm you are still able to attend. You must confirm your spot, and follow the instructions in the email. If you do not confirm by the deadline given in the email, we will assume you are no longer interested, and select another family from the list. You will want to make sure you are checking your Spam folders in case you are not receiving emails from us.
Q: I was selected for an event, why can’t I confirm?
A: Once selected, you will have the option to confirm and you must confirm by the deadline listed in the event description and selected notification email to attend the event. Confirmation deadlines are always at noon. You will not be able to confirm for an event after the deadline; you will automatically be moved back to the waiting list.
Q: Who is eligible to attend Community Services events?
A: Only Lincoln Military Housing residents may attend Community Services events. Visiting guests, such as relatives or non-Lincoln military friends, are not eligible to attend. Event attendees must be the spouse and/or children who are listed on your lease agreement as the occupants of your Lincoln home or apartment. On the very rare occasion when an event welcomes non-residents, this information will be clearly explained on our advertising materials.
Q: Why can’t I bring a guest who is not a resident?
A: Unlike some other local organizations and programs in our area, we are not funded to provide our program to any and all military ID holders or visitors or the general public. As a resident, you would not want to be turned away from attending an event because your neighbor brought all their aunts, uncles, cousins, and some kids from the next town over and took your family’s event tickets, meal coupons, seats, etc. We are sorry when we have to turn away your visiting relatives and friends, but our obligation is to provide the Community Services benefit for residents. Your understanding and cooperation is appreciated.
Q: I have friends and family in town, are they able to attend LMH events?
A: No, our events are only for family members on your service member’s PAGE 2 form.
Q: How do I find out about Community Services events in my area?
A: Every month you will receive a newsletter mailed right to your home. This is the best way to find out about what exciting program opportunities are available in the coming weeks. And when you attend an event, you will often see flyers or hear announcements for events and programs which have not even been advertised yet, which gives you a chance to be one of the first people in your neighborhood to hear all about it!
Q: How do I participate?
A: Log onto this Community Services website and you will see all the events which folks in your neighborhood or community are eligible to attend. Some of these events will be OPEN (no sign-ups required) events, which mean you and your family can just show up and ENJOY! Other events require that you RSVP to reserve your space at the event. Only the resident who RSVP’s will be guaranteed entry to the event. Last, there are also some events which require that you enter a lottery for tickets. This means that all residents have an equal chance to enter the lottery on-line until about 2 weeks before the event. Then the computer randomly selects the winners and notifies them that their spots have been reserved at the event. All others are placed on the waiting list and will only be notified if a lottery winner cannot attend.
Q: My friend is a Lincoln resident, but she does not have a computer at home. How can she register for events?
A: We suggest that your friend might be able to borrow a neighbor’s computer or perhaps she might have one at work. Some residents also use computers at local libraries or their District/Housing Office for FREE.
Q: If I have to cancel, can my neighbor just go in my place?
A: No. We have many families on the waiting lists hoping for the opportunity to attend our exciting events. We need your cooperation to help keep the system fair for everyone. Once we determine that you can no longer attend, we will notify the next person(s) on the waiting list that they now have the opportunity to attend. If your neighbor arrives in your place, we will most likely have to turn him/her away. Your understanding and cooperation is appreciated.
Q: My spouse had work/duty and didn’t know if they could attend, but now he/she can. Can I just bring along this extra person?
A: Maybe. Depending on the event, we may be able to use any extra tickets to welcome your additional family member. However, for some events, this is not possible as tickets, meals, etc. have been purchased only for those who originally registered to attend. We suggest that if a family member is planning to attend while waiting to hear back about a work or duty schedule, you should include that person in your registration. It is far easier to cancel than to try to add them on.
Q: Do all your Adult events provide child care?
A: While many events do provide child care, this is not the case for all events. Please read the advertising materials carefully for the child care information, including the ages of children accepted in to care. Very young infants and pre-teens are sometimes excluded due to the need to provide the safest care for the largest amount of children. In all cases, label your child’s personal belongings clearly and pack any extra essentials that he/she may need: diapers, snack, medical instructions/alerts, change of clothes, etc.
Q: If an event is canceled, how will I know?
A: If an event is canceled or postponed in the days prior to the event for any reason, all guests will be notified by email, phone, or via the website. If the event is canceled in the 24 hours prior to the event, all guests will be notified by phone. (Another important reason to make sure your registration profile contains the best phone or cell number where we can reach you.) There may also be a sign posted at the event location.
Q: My friend is a Lincoln resident on the other side of town. She got to go to an event in her neighborhood last month that I never knew about. Why?
A: Your Community Services Coordinator plans events for each individual neighborhood. A cookout or movie night for residents of your neighborhood is open to you and your neighbors only. It gives neighbors the chance to become familiar with those folks who live right around them. So your friend has events just for her community and you have events just for yours. They are not always identical because each Community Services Coordinator bases the type of events on feedback from you and your neighbors. Not all communities enjoy the same exact kinds of programs, so we customize them based on your feedback.
Q: How much do events cost to attend?
A: All Community Services event are completely free of charge. In some cases you will also receive free snacks and/or meals and entertainment. Once in awhile you may be required to pay for your own parking.
Q: My child or spouse has special needs and/or must have a medical aide travel with us. Can you accommodate special needs at your events and can the aide come with us?
A: As you go through the registration process, you will have the chance to note any special needs we need to be aware of. Please be as specific as possible so that we may do our very best to accommodate your request. In the event that a facility or venue cannot honor your entire request, we will let you know in advance. Medical aides are always welcome to attend an event for the safety and comfort of your family member. Please include the aide as a member of your party as you register.
Q: What is the difference between RSVP and Lottery Events?
A: A lottery event has a start and end date in which you have to enter the lottery for the specific event. After the lottery end date all the entries go into the computer and the computer randomly selects the lottery winners. The rest go on the wait list in case there are cancellations. An RSVP event is a first come, first served basis. Once the RSVP begins we take the entries as they come and accept the RSVPs until we get to our maximum number of attendants. Everyone else is then placed on the wait list in case there are cancellations.

Q: What if I did not receive an Email to Let Me Know My Status of a Sign-Up?
A: Please check the website or your newsletter to find out when the lottery/RSVP closes. Please call our office at 858-505-4136 if you do not get a reply/response from us within 3 days after a lottery/RSVP ends. Chances are our response got lost in cyberspace or in your junk or spam filter. Please do not wait until the day before the event to call the office. As a general rule of thumb, if you sent us an email regarding anything and do not get responses within 3 days after you sent your email, please call our office. We are very good about responding and if you did not get our response we either did not receive your email, or you did not receive our response.
